I started practicing Karatedo since i was 16 yrs. old with my sensei, my dad. At first i wasn't interested, coz i thought it was just like playing and i was too lazy on that time until i joined a karate tournament, my very first tournament, and won a bronze medal for Jr. Division Sparring, it was a great feeling to win as a beginner. On that day, I promised myself that the next time I join to a competition I will grab and take the GOLD, and that where i started loving this sport. We went to a lot of competitions, in Bacolod, Aklan, Antique, Boracay and of course in Iloilo City. I also represented my school, Iloilo College of Business and Computer, in PRISAA and won first place in sparring and second place in kata competition. I, with some of Iloilo participants, also joined the Philippine National Karatedo Tournament held at University of Cebu in Cebu City. Unluckily, we have'nt bring home any awards but it was memorable and fun playing with the Philippine Team, they were really good. Haaaayyy, i missed the old days... lolz... After I graduated, we moved here in America, and i did'nt have a chance to practice karate for 2 years coz of being busy working in Mississippi. Until I quit my job coz we moved in Michigan, and here i started practicing karate again and joined a Tournament by Silverado Karate Club... and won Bronze Medals in Kihon and Sparring and Silver Medal for Kata. Its not bad though coz i was the youngest player to joined the Advance Competition. They were all black belt instructors of different karate clubs here in Michigan. But hey, its not bad for a 3rd Kyu Brown Belt lolz... kicking their butts... lol
